Unseen and unappreciated,
The labors of the sweet shop unfold.
Mixing, measuring, baking, molding,
The artisans work with skill untold.
Though praise may never be bestowed,
Their efforts make each treat a treasure.
They are the alchemists of happiness,
Turning sugar and spice into magic.
Celebrations become sweeter,
Meals become more memorable,
From Holi to Diwali, sweets are a mainstay,
In India, festive celebrations are never drab or gray.
Rasgullas and laddoos, jalebis and kulfi,
Sweet treats that enliven any party.
